This peaceful, rural
community has a rich, historic past and once
served as the county's busy industrial center.
The Woodbine Brotherhood
Synagogue on Washington Street was built in the
1890's. It is listed on the N.J. and
National Registers and was the primary synagogue
for a group of emigrants who came to America to
escape Czarist Russia.
Both the Woodbine Airport on
Woodbine-Oceanview Road and the Cape May County
Airport in Rio Grande were once military bases.
They now serve the public as general aviation
airports.
